Ideal Weight Calculator
Your ideal body weight is an estimate of a healthy weight for your height, based on widely used medical formulas. This free calculator shows results from the Devine, Robinson, and Miller formulas side by side.
How to Use This Calculator
- Enter your height in centimeters.
- Select your gender (formulas differ for men and women).
- Click Calculate Ideal Weight to see all three formula results in kilograms.
Devine: Men 50 + 2.3×(in−60); Women 45.5 + 2.3×(in−60)
Robinson: Men 52 + 1.9×(in−60); Women 49 + 1.7×(in−60)
Miller: Men 56.2 + 1.41×(in−60); Women 53.1 + 1.36×(in−60)
Worked Example
Male, 175 cm (68.9 in): Devine = 50 + 2.3×8.9 = 70.5 kg. Robinson = 68.9 kg. Miller = 68.7 kg. A healthy range is roughly 62–77 kg.
Our Testing Process
Every DaProfitClub calculator is tested before publishing. We verify formula outputs against published medical references, test edge cases (very short/tall heights), and confirm the tool works on desktop and mobile browsers.
Frequently Asked Questions
Which formula is most accurate?
All three are estimates. Devine is the original (1974) and most widely cited; Robinson and Miller are refinements. Doctors often use them as a starting point, not a strict target.
Is ideal weight the same as BMI healthy weight?
Not exactly. BMI gives a range based on weight vs height squared; these formulas give a single target. Both are screening tools, not diagnoses.
Do these work for athletes or children?
No. Muscular builds, children, pregnant people, and older adults need different assessments — consult a healthcare provider.
What is a healthy weight range?
Generally ±10% around the formula result, combined with a BMI of 18.5–24.9, is considered a reasonable range for most adults.
