Calorie (TDEE) Calculator

How to Use This Calorie Calculator

  1. Enter your gender, age, height, and weight.
  2. Select your activity level honestly — most people overestimate.
  3. Choose your goal (maintain, lose, or gain weight).
  4. Click "Calculate My Calories" to see your BMR, TDEE, and daily target.

The Mifflin-St Jeor Formula

Men: BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age + 5

Women: BMR = 10 × weight(kg) + 6.25 × height(cm) − 5 × age − 161

TDEE = BMR × activity factor (1.2–1.9). This is the most validated prediction equation for healthy adults.

Frequently Asked Questions

What is the difference between BMR and TDEE?

BMR (Basal Metabolic Rate) is the calories your body burns at complete rest. TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure) = BMR × activity factor, adding calories burned through movement and exercise. TDEE is the number to use for diet planning.

How many calories should I eat to lose weight?

A deficit of ~500 cal/day typically yields about 0.5 kg (1 lb) of fat loss per week. Don't go below 1,200 cal/day (women) or 1,500 cal/day (men) without medical supervision.

How accurate are online calorie calculators?

Within about 10–15% for most people. Individual metabolism, body composition, and activity tracking errors all add noise. Treat the result as a starting point, then adjust based on real weight trends over 2–3 weeks.
